A Seasonal Message
For Lent and Easter

Beloved Circuit Leadership Team and Members of Canterbury & East Kent Circuit, Grace and peace from our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. As we enter the sacred season of Lent, which begins on Ash Wednesday, we are invited into forty days of reflection, renewal and deeper communion with God. Lent is not merely a tradition of the church calendar; it is a spiritual journey – a call to return to the Lord with all our hearts.
The prophet reminds us in Joel 2:12, “Return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” This is the heartbeat of Lent. It is a season to examine ourselves – personally and collectively as the church of Christ in our communities where mission is taking place. Lent calls each of us to renewal. Lent calls us to listen and allow the Holy Spirit to search our hearts. Let us recommit ourselves to prayer, reading the Scripture and serving God in places where he has placed us.
A Call to Witness and Mission
Lent moves us toward the cross- but it does not end there. The cross leads us to resurrection. Even in times of testing, the church must remain hopeful. Let this season renew our commitment to evangelism, discipleship, social justice and compassionate service in our communities. My prayer to all of us reading this Easter message is that, we should observe this Lenten season intentionally through Bible studies, prophetic voice, acts of charity and our focus on Christ and his redemptive work of the world.
May the good Lord make his face to shine upon you and keep you throughout this season and beyond. AMEN.
